Jennifer Theut

Jennifer Theut has worked with VEA members since moving to Virginia in 2007. Before becoming a VEA staff member, she worked with one of the NEA Member Benefits affiliate partners, where she had the opportunity to meet and work with many VEA members. Through that experience, she discovered that she wanted to make a more direct difference in the lives of members.

As a UniServ Director, Jennifer supports both individual members and the local associations to which she is assigned. She currently serves as the primary UniServ Director for Stafford, Culpeper, and Rappahannock counties. She is no stranger to Stafford or the Mountain View UniServ (MVU) office, having first come to MVU in 2011. She returned in 2013 and worked with Spotsylvania, Culpeper, and Rappahannock for nearly ten years.

Most recently, Jennifer supported the Loudoun Education Association through every stage of its collective bargaining campaign. The campaign, which began in 2021 and included many twists and pivots along the way, culminated in LEA's first two collective bargaining agreements taking effect on July 1, 2026.

Jennifer's goal is not only to support individual members, but also to teach members how to harness the power of their union. She believes her work is most successful when members trust the organizing process, identify the issues that matter to them, organize around those issues, rally their colleagues and community, and advocate together for the things they hold most dear.
