Katie McNelly

Katie McNelly has 12 years of experience as a public educator in both Virginia and New York. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of roles, including middle school English Language Arts teacher, special education teacher and case manager, fourth grade teacher, reading interventionist, IEP coordinator, and new teacher mentor.

During her time in New York City, Katie was a proud member of the United Federation of Teachers (UFT), where she learned firsthand the many ways unionizing can benefit public school employees and students. As President of the Stafford Education Association, she hopes to bring that knowledge and experience to supporting educators here in Virginia as SEA paves the way toward contract negotiations.
